On November 17th, 2021, Michael Curlee fell about 15 ft. from his deer stand and sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed.

Michael’s family’s house was built in the 1970s and needed significant structural changes. These included changes to the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom to accommodate a wheelchair. Our goal was to also redo their entrance, flooring, remove walls, and relocate plumbing to make his bathroom handicapped accessible.

NARI Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP) designed the new floor plan and the project was overseen by our NARI Certified Remodeler (CR).

Austin NARI completed this $170,000 retail project with donated materials, labor, and love using Austin NARI members.

A huge thank you to the Bliss-Curlee family for letting Austin NARI be part of your family.
